Insurance
Jenny Gupton is the office manager as well as sole proprietor of
Maui Medical Billing and Coding, a company that processes all payments and claims.
She is an active member of the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders).
Patients with participating insurance pay an up-front copay, determined by their coverage, and the remainder of their balance is billed to their insurance companies. There may be certain services, supplies, medicines, outside-hours charges, and procedures not covered under their policy, and patients are advised to contact their insurance representative to enquire about the details of their coverage.
For out of state patients without Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO or a participating local insurance carrier, they will be asked to pay up front, and will receive an invoice known as a "walk out sheet'" which they can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.

Housecalls
Housecalls and resort/condo visits are subject to availability of the covering physician, and are subject to an additional housecall fee that most insurance providers do not cover. The evaluation and management, prescription, injectables, dressings, treatments, etc. are charged in addition to the housecall fee.
